Plan Ahead
It is always helpful to have plans or goals, even if you aren’t a perfectionist. Having something to work towards and look forward to boosts your morale. While being spontaneous is good, living a monotonous life without establishing benchmarks is not recommended. Making little plans and goals gives you a sense of accomplishment and makes your day more productive. For an hour, I will work on that project, “I’ll meet two new people,” “I’ll keep an eye on my friends,” or “I’ll walk.” In addition, planning ahead makes you aware of how your day will unfold, so you don’t feel disoriented and flustered. However, life is full of surprises, so you have to be prepared.
DIY- Do it yourself
Instead of sitting around waiting for something to get done, it’s better if you do it yourself. This way, the task would be performed according to your taste and there would be no mistakes. Trusting people to do certain things is a given, but rather than delay on some tasks, if you can, take on the task. Do that decoration yourself or paint that room’s wall. Even if you don’t have the skills for it, be actively involved.
Be positive
No really, let all the bad thoughts go. Being positive does not make you unrealistic, but lightens the load on your shoulders by making you see the good in every situation. Worrying and overthinking never solved anything, and being positive is like a shock absorber for whatever life throws at you. It’s okay to be sad, anxious or worried but not to the point that you let it take over, leaving you feeling frustrated, angry and depressed. Don’t let your life be all gloom and dark. Look on the bright side. If there isn’t any, you are probably wearing shades.
Take calculated risks
Being a spontaneous person is exciting, and you should always measure out the effects your actions are going to have. Taking risks at any time should be a well thought out decision in any phase of life, financial, physical, emotional, etc. If you are getting into a relationship, taking a loan, wanting to go on a trip, wanting to build up muscles, check out the pros and cons and make a decision. Although being a daredevil once in a while could expose you to new and exciting experiences, its always better to be safe than sorry.
Don’t shelve your dreams and talents
At least give them a try so that you don’t have any regrets later. Too many ‘’what ifs” would prevent you from fulfilling your dreams or showcasing your talent. If you want to take a trip around the world, do it. If you want to go for an acting audition, do it. Listening to the negative thoughts from yourself and people around you would do you no good. Think to yourself ‘’what’s the worst that could happen‘’ and if you can live with it, then do it. Except, of course, if your dream is to be a serial killer.
Don’t burn your bridges
Human interaction is important. Family, friends, relatives, and acquaintances are all important parts of your life and should not be substituted for work or any other activity. Hanging out with friends after a hard day, going on a date during the weekend or visiting family. They remind you of how to be human, and being around them or talking to them develops you emotionally and mentally, sometimes physically. Whether knowingly or unknowingly, cutting them off would leave its mark, and besides, there’s nothing like that large, noisy crowd around the table during Christmas.
Remember, life does not come with a handbook, so don’t compare yourselves to others and just do you, however you want to.
