GET UP, DON’T SNOOZE.

 In other words, do not wake up on the wrong side of the bed by getting up later than you planned. Plan ahead so you can wake up when you are supposed to and get started on your activities for the day. Getting up late makes you feel like you don’t have enough time for all the stuff you have to do, leaving you feeling tired, frustrated and downright unhappy. Planning the day before it starts gives you the confidence to face it and might even let for extra snooze time in the mornings.

GET SOME SUNLIGHT

Most people are always indoors. Although Nigeria is a tropical country, people living in busy cities are often indoors working from dawn to dusk and hardly see the sun. On the way to work, at work, on your way home and of course, at home. Taking a significant morning walk always puts you in a better mood, casually taking a stroll and watching the world wake up around you. Of course, we are just trying to boost out Vitamin D and get some form of fresh air. A breath of fresh air helps clear your head and with a clear head comes clear thinking.

PRIORITIZE YOUR HEALTH

Do yourself a favor. Eat. Take naps and relaxing breaks during work hours. If you’re going to stress yourself then make sure you have enough time to recover. If you don’t give yourself the TLC you deserve, your body might end up betraying you when you need it the most. Being motivated and hardworking is encouraged but taking proper care of yourself is also important.

FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE

Focusing on that one thing that did not go well makes you blind to everything that is going perfectly according to plan. Even if you make a mistake, get over it. Make a scale of 1-10 with ‘10′ being death and if the issue doesn’t get there, shake it off and move on. Appreciate the little things that make you smile and happiness would come easy for you.

STAY AWAY FROM BAD ENERGY

Doesn’t matter who it is, as long as you are getting bad vibes from that person that day, stay away. A rotten tomato tends to spoil the others in the basket.  Don’t give anybody the chance to project their frustrations on you.  You’ll let go of your positive energy and start mimicking the person’s emotions without even knowing it. Getting irritated and angry without knowing why is one of the common reasons most people have a bad day.

All work and no play makes for a very stressful and terrible day. Have a lunch date, spend time with friends after work, catch up with your favorite TV show while reclining on a chair with a bowl of popcorn or any healthy snack if you like. Better yet  turn in early and get enough sleep to prepare yourself for the next day.
